Old East Palmdale, Ignored.

Have you been to the Older East Side of Palmdale, between 5th st and 25th St? Well, you might notice it still pretty much looks the same, but now we continue to see empty shopping spaces, and a lot of homeless people strolling through the hot city looking for some change. Now lets head over to the West Side of Palmdale, a lot of new things coming in and it just looks A LOT nicer, don’t you agree?

In fact everything continues to head to the West side, leaving the East Side with, well, not too much. Maybe it’s time for Palmdale Residents who live in the older East side to say “Hey, have you forgotten about this side of town? How about some BIG projects?”

Well, at least they found a the perfect way to spend 20 Million Dollars by building a Giant Animal Shelter on Sierra Highway by the Sheriff Station–that should bring a lot of benefit to the surrounding community. Hopefully the city will permit the people that live within 1 mile radius to visit the facility free of charge and pet animals.

It would have been nice to build something beneficial for the surrounding community. Just check out the statistics From 5th Street to 20th street, it is said that the area

has more single mother households than 98.3% of the neighborhoods in the U.S. Often high concentrations of single mother homes can be a strong indicator of family and social issues such as poverty, high rates of school dropouts, crime, and other societal problems.

Just a thought, but maybe a 20 million dollar shelter could have been placed on the West Side of Palmdale, and they could have invested in more community programs and facilities to help and inspire the many young kids in the area.
